On Saturday, August 26, 2006 the WCCDG held its “Think Big” event. This community celebration included food, entertainment and fun for the entire community. At this event, the WCCDG unveiled ideas for West Central redevelopment and revitalization, and more importantly, asked for community input and ideas. A survey was taken at the event and over 68% of respondents indicated they have notices improvements on West Central. The most popular suggestions for additions to the area included: family entertainment, more sit down restaurants, more retail shopping and a medical facility. Nearly 2,000 people attended the event. The community outpouring was fantastic, and the WCCDG plans a similar event for 2007.
